Neramitra Thai Opens in Crystal City

Dynamic New Asian Restaurant Joins Crystal Drive
Lineup of Hotspot Eateries

Crystal City, VA – The most recent jewel in Crystal City’s lineup of exciting new restaurants brings the distinctive flavor of Thailand to Crystal Drive.

Neramitra Thai, located at 2200 Crystal Drive, offers a contemporary take on traditional Thai cuisine - sophisticated, trendy and affordable with lunch entrees ranging from $7 to $12 and dinner items ranging from $9 to $14. Translated as: “to foresee something wonderful,” Neramitra Thai lives up to its name, by offering a wide selection of both traditional and innovative Thai specialties. Featured items range from beef marinated in house specialty curry sauce and golden crisp battered coconut shrimp to Neramitra soft shell crab and stir fried combination seafood with chili pepper and garlic sauce.

Soony Dejavich, one of the managing partners of Neramitra Thai, also co-owns two similar Thai restaurants in the DC Metropolitan area, Thai Farm in Rockville and Sakoontra in Fairfax.

With their opening last month, Neramitra Thai joins Oyamel, McCormick & Schmick’s, Jaleo, Bailey’s Pub & Grille, Corner Bakery, Coldstone Creamery and other eateries on the new Crystal Drive streetscape.

This lineup – along with Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Morton’s the Steakhouse, King Street Blues, Legal Seafood, Hamburger Hamlet and many other great Crystal City restaurants – has created one of the area’s largest and most diverse dining destinations in the Washington area.

“An eclectic urban mix of great restaurants, like Neramitra Thai, now define the new energy and flavor of Crystal City,” said Mara Olguin, VP of Marketing for Charles E. Smith Commercial Realty.

“Neramitra offers a joyful experience and a mouthful of taste,” says owner Sittha Chindasumpanda, also know as Bird. “Much of our menu is traditional, but many items are unique to our own kitchen. Here, you will find menu items that you will not find at any other Thai restaurant in Washington,” he said.

Neramitra, like many of the new Crystal City restaurants, features both indoor and outdoor patio seating.

The restaurant is open weekdays from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon until 10:30 p.m.
