McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant to open New Dining Destination
Washington, D.C.--McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants and Charles E. Smith Commercial Realty , a division of Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE:VNO) today announced that a new McCormick & Schmick Seafood Restaurant will open in Crystal's City new retail streetscape currently under development. McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant will anchor the corner of 20th Street and Crystal Drive. The new restaurant will include the popular features that have become a hallmark at McCormick & Schmick's - a lively, sophisticated bar, elegant design with attention to detail, outdoor seating, private meeting rooms and a menu that changes daily to feature the freshest seafood available. "Crystal City is a great fit for a new McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant. It has the built-in day and evening market of workers, residents and visitors that make our restaurants successful. The new vibrant, urban streetscape of Crystal City will be a quality backdrop to the atmosphere of our restaurant," said Doug Schmick, co-founder of McCormick & Schmick's. The 7,000 square foot restaurant, slated to open in the Fall of 2004, will be part of Crystal City’s new pedestrian-focused urban retail and dining district that will add an additional 60,000 square feet of retail to the existing 400,000 square feet already in Crystal City. The new retail and restaurant mix will feature broad sidewalks, outdoor cafes, enticing storefronts and parks. The new Crystal City streetscape will also feature two new restaurants, Jaleo and Oyamel, by Roberto Alvarez, Rob Wilder and Jose Andres, the team behind the successful Washington hotspots Jaleo, Café Atlantico and Zaytinya.
